Improving Slay Times in the Common Dragon

      Catherine Shaffer
Improving Slay Times in the Common Dragon

Ivan Quickblade wonders if he's really cut out for magical graduate school when his dragon-slaying research project goes off the rails. In order to get it back on track, he has to deal with a research mentor that exists as a probability cloud and a human research subject who is not quite as expendable as he thought.Abstract An extract made from the juice of the Hesperidensian pomegranate, injected intramuscularly, will weaken the common dragon, Draco areuginosa, sufficiently to allow a killing blow to the head or hearts (Richardson, et al.).In order to isolate and characterize this effect, four adult male dragons of the species Draco areuginosa were attracted to our laboratory using Jaffronium's method and slain using either traditional methods or Richardson's technology. Richardson's method improved slay times by 34%.

    Eating the Dinosaur

      Chuck Klosterman
     Eating the Dinosaur

Chuck Klosterman has chronicled rock music, film, and sports for almost fifteen years. He's covered extreme metal, extreme nostalgia, disposable art, disposable heroes, life on the road, life through the television, urban uncertainty and small-town weirdness. Through a variety of mediums and with a multitude of motives, he's written about everything he can think of (and a lot that he's forgotten). The world keeps accelerating, but the pop ideas keep coming. In Eating the Dinosaur, Klosterman is more entertaining and incisive than ever. Whether he's dissecting the boredom of voyeurism, the reason why music fans inevitably hate their favorite band's latest album, or why we love watching can't-miss superstars fail spectacularly, Klosterman remains obsessed with the relationship between expectation, reality, and living history. It's amateur anthropology for the present tense, and sometimes it's incredibly funny.

However, 1972 is shaping up to be a good year. I have formed a band with my friends, and I’m the drummer, or at least I will be when I get some drums. I have also met the beautiful Sofia, who might just be the girl of my dreams, although she is understandably more preoccupied with her rugged boyfriend who looks like a male model.
