     It's Illegal, But It's Okay

There are stories that could only happen in New York City. Where else would all those people get along: a Brazilian, an Iranian, two Mexican brothers, an old Korean lady and an American couple? In this anarchic comedy about clash of cultures, intolerance, romance and impossible dreams, nothing is what it seems and nobody is all good or all bad. There are stories that could only happen in New York City. Where else would all those people get along: a Brazilian, an Iranian, two Mexican brothers, an old Korean lady and an American couple? Fagner hangs out with Rico, his best friend. Rico is a Mexican pothead and likes to brag about being brother of a drug dealer, Carlos. Oman and Rico don’t like each other. Oman complains that Rico distracts Fagner from his work. In turn, Rico thinks that Oman exploits Fagner. But the real mess starts when Fagner falls in love with Rachel, an actress not very talented, who works at a shoe store and likes to smoke a joint.     Noahs Nuclear Niche

      Anthony E Thorogood
     Noahs Nuclear Niche

With Thorogood's hallmark brilliant dialogue the plays in this collection come alive. They are entertaining enticing and laugh out loud funny. A cross between Noel Cowards* Hay Fever and the Marx Brothers* Duck Soup they are a mad romp into the surreal. A fantastic collection of truly comic plays. All the plays in this collection were successfully performed in the late 1970's early 1980's with Planet of the Cow's being presented in the fringe of the Adelaide Festival of Arts. Reviews: Tim Lloyd in the Adelaide Advertiser wrote of the play Planet of the Cows: 'Thorogood has the tremendous advantage of being able to write fresh and fluent dialogue which makes the play come alive. It is indulgent and funny with everything from terrible puns about cows to sublime comments on the behaviour of modern man.'*Noël Peirce Coward was an English playwright, composer, director, actor and singer, known for his wit and flamboyance. Hay Fever is a comic play written by Coward and first produced in 1925 and described as a cross between a rollicking farce and a comedy of manners.*The Marx Brothers were an American family comedy act that was successful in vaudeville, on Broadway, and in motion pictures from 1905 to 1949. They are widely considered to be among the greatest comedians of the 20th century

    Unexpectedly, Milo

      Matthew Dicks
     Unexpectedly, Milo

The author of SOMETHING MISSING returns with another hilarious and sneakily profound tale about a man whose behavior is truly odd, but also oddly relatable.   Milo Slade, a thirty-three year old home healthcare aide, is witnessing the rapid dissolution of his three-year marriage to a polished, high-powered attorney named Christine. Though Milo doesn't quite know the root of his marital problems, he inevitably blames himself, or more specifically, he faults the demands his obsessive compulsive personality place upon him--the need to open a jar of Smuckers grape jelly or sing 99 Luftballons in front of an audience, to name just a couple. Yet Christine is still none the wiser about these inexplicable quirks as Milo has painstakingly hidden them from her and everyone else for years. No one knows the true--and in his mind more insidious--Milo, and such is the root of his profound loneliness, especially now that he and Christine are living apart during a trial separation. Then one day Milo stumbles across a video camera and tapes, left behind in a park. He watches the first tape, which is a heartfelt confessional by a young woman who begins to reveal her secrets, starting small at first, and finally revealing that she blames herself for a tragic death of a friend. But not all the details add up and Milo is struck with the urge to free the sweet confessor from her guilt. He is, after all, an expert in keeping secrets… In typical screwball fashion, Milo sets out on a cross-country journey to crack the case, but quickly gets sidetracked as his un-ignorable demands call. But it is during these sidetracks that the true meaning of his adventure takes shape. Milo is weird, but as he discovers, so is everyone else. UNEXPECTEDLY, MILO is a humorous and touching novel about finding oneself, embracing the journey, and, unexpectedly, love. From the Trade Paperback edition.

    Divine Diagnosis

      Gabriel Archer
     Divine Diagnosis

What if God had a psychiatrist? What would their sessions uncover? Megalomania? An inferiority complex? Voyeurism? This short story is an explanatory expedition into God's infinitely fractured psyche. Our probe comes in the somewhat obese and very unattractive shape of our unfortunate protagonist - a middle-aged Jewish psychiatrist whose uninteresting life forced him to become a therapist for the rich and famous and whose untimely death forced him to become the therapist for the dead and deified. Now his days are filled with treating Buddha's body image, Mohammed's phobia of being rendered as an image, and Jesus' daddy issues. Then it gets weird. Our probe falls into the space between good and evil, and becomes frozen at the midpoint of insanity and sanity. This is a story of a mad God, of reversal of roles, and reverse psychology. But you probably wouldn't be interested anyway.
