Sarah smiled, and nestled her head against his chest. They stood together at the rail, arm in arm, perfectly content. A rosy sunset spread across the western horizon. The ship sailed into it, while behind them the Malabar coast and the great continent of India receded into the gathering darkness. Tom thought of everything that had happened to them since they were thrown up on its shore so many months ago.
‘I wonder if Dorian has had such adventures as we have,’ he mused.
Sarah kissed his cheek. ‘I am sure it will make quite a tale.’
