It’s probably why I don’t remember very much, in fact I know it is. You see, every time I died, I come back, but not 100%. Pieces of who I was are lost. I never come back exactly the same. More often than not, it’s my memory.
After dying a hundred or so times, I took up the approach of becoming a fictional character. People won’t try to kill me if they think I’m not real. Which was great for me, because dying sucks even for me. It’s messy, and I always seem to spawn someplace wholly different then from where I died. It’s excellent for not immediately dying again, but it blows for getting all my stuff back.
After dying one last time on December 6 of some year that I can’t remember, I decided enough is enough. I’ve got to take this ginger dick seriously. So I paid a few advertising companies to market the idea of Santa Claus to the world. It was simple. If you’re good, you get gifts. If you’re a sugarplum fuck face, you get nothing. I’d only have to venture out into the world once a year, limiting the amount of times I could be killed. So it was really win win win for everyone.
Well, not everyone. I was married. To the first Mrs. Claus, Gillian. We… ugg… we had issues, but when we were together, things were magical. She made me a better person. And fuck… I know this is the last time, but I don’t want to talk about this anymore. This all hurts too much. And I… nope…
Now I’m with Kat, she’s younger, bigger boobs, so that’s nice, shit don’t tell Gillian I said that. She’s really into me, Kat that is, and… fuck… I wish I could give her what she wants back. But I… I just can’t. She is wonderful, and I’m worried that she’s going to realize who I am, and that I’m not the man she thinks I am, and that she’s going to leave me. Fuck… this all took a turn. I love her so much, but it hurts knowing it could all be over because of me. I’m doing my best, but…you know…
I drink a lot now. I know I shouldn’t, but I do, it makes me feel better and forget who I’m not anymore. I wish I were still like that Saint Nicholas that I told you about, but I’m not, I’m just Chris now. Which isn’t who I want to be. Don’t get me wrong, I still love doing good, and I love trying to make the world a better place. But it’s not, and I’m pretty confident it’s my fault. You’d probably drink, smoke a lot of weed, and snort stuff too if you felt like you’d let the world. Tinsel balls, maybe I should leave out the part about snorting stuff…
I mean, it’s not like I’m doing a good job of hiding that I’m not the all powerful and rad Saint Nicholas anymore. I mean, I can only do a fraction of the cool shit I used to be able to do. My suit does most of it for me now. Don’t get me wrong, I love my suit, it’s very badass, and very Iron Man like. So at least that makes me feel cool, but it also just reminds me of who I’m not anymore, and who I’ve let down.
Fuck… the people I’ve let down… Freddie… I’m done.
