      Recipes Made By The Characters

      Love Pancakes

      Recipes by Terra Kelly

      Prep: 10-15 minutes

Cook: 2 minutes each side (directions below)

Makes: 12-18 pancakes (4 inch in diameter)

      Ingredients

      2 cups all-purpose flour

      1 Tbsp baking powder

      1 tsp salt

      ¼ cup sugar

      ½ cup salted butter, melted

      2 large egg

1 ½ cup coconut milk (or favorite milk)

Optional - Pink Love Pancake batter

½ cup batter (you may need 1 cup if you want a big pink heart)

(optional) 1 Tbsp coconut milk (Add if batter is too thick)

      4 drops red food coloring

      Directions

Note: You can use a heart shape cookie cutter to get a precise heart shape or just make the shape on your own. If you use a cookie cutter, when it’s time to remove the cookie cutter use tongs because it will be hot.

In a small saucepan, melt butter and let cool.

In a small bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

In a medium bowl, add melted butter, eggs, and coconut milk. Mix well and then add flour mixture. The batter should be loose, but not runny. If you need to add more coconut milk, just add a small amount at a time until you get a good consistency to pour into your pan.

Optional- You can add pink hearts in the center of your pancakes. In a small bowl, add ½ cup of the prepared batter. The batter needs to be loose enough for a piping bag. You may need to add 1 or 2 tablespoons of coconut milk. Then add the food coloring and mix well. Add the pink batter to your piping bag and set aside.

In a saucepan with burner set to medium heat, add small amount of butter or cooking spray. Place heart-shaped cookie cutter and ¼ cup batter to warmed pan. Cook for about two minutes on each side. When it’s time to flip to the second side, the batter will look dull in appearance and you won’t see bubbles popping up anymore.

Optional pink hearts- If you want to make the love pancakes, you can add the pink batter. Place the heart-shaped cookie cutter in the center of the warmed pan now pipe out a pink heart. Then immediately add the batter on top of the pink heart. Let them cook for two minutes on each side, just like directed up above.

Top with your favorite topping, and enjoy!

      Kelsey’s Big Girl Cookies

      AKA: Peanut Butter, Toasted Coconut,

      Chocolate Chip Cookies

      Recipe by Terra Kelly

      Prep: 15-20 minutes

      Cook: 10-14 minutes

      Makes: 26 cookies

      Ingredients

      ½ cup salted butter, softened

      ½ cup white granulated sugar

      ½ cup packed brown sugar

1 cup coconut milk (or favorite milk)

      2 large eggs

      1 tsp vanilla

      2 cups all-purpose flour

      1 tsp baking powder

      1 tsp baking soda

      1 tsp salt

      ¼ tsp nutmeg

      ½ tsp cinnamon

½ cup shredded coconut, toasted (directions below)

      ½ cup peanut butter

      1 cup chocolate chips

      ½ cup craisins

      Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Add parchment paper or Silpat to sheet pan, or use cooking spray.

For toasted coconut: Place parchment paper on sheet pan and add coconut. Bake for 5-10 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool. Note: There is an additional step at the bottom of this recipe. Toast some extra coconut so you have enough for the cookies and the extra step at the bottom.

In a small bowl, add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

In a medium bowl, add softened butter, white sugar, brown sugar, milk, eggs, vanilla, and peanut butter. Mix ingredients together. Then add flour mixture. Make sure batter is mixed well. Now add toasted coconut, chocolate chips, and craisins.

Add 1-2 tablespoons of batter for each cookie to prepared sheet pan with a scoop. Bake 10-14 minutes depending on oven. The cookies will be golden brown in appearance. (Note: I used a scoop that equaled about two tablespoons and the recipe made 26 cookies.)

      Enjoy one or two…maybe more!

Optional: You could add a chocolate glaze to the cookie after they’ve cooled. In a small bowl, mix one cup powdered sugar, three tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, and four to six tablespoons milk. Dip the top of the cookie or half of the cookie into the chocolate glaze and sprinkle some toasted coconut. Let them sit for about 30 minutes, then enjoy!

      A note from the author

Eddie and Sarah’s story is so heartwarming.

Sarah picked the perfect city to call home.

Who still wants taffy and homemade fudge? Yeah, me, too.

Okay, making Michigan taffy and fudge was not on the recipe list but I hope you enjoyed the two recipes available. Plus, we’ll have more treats in the future on Cafe Terra.

Note: If you’re new to Cafe Terra Blog, there will be a new recipe on the blog each week. We talk about food in all my books. Now it’s time to enjoy each one of the recipes we all know and love.

We need to find out about “The Player,” Jackson. I have a feeling his story is going to be really, really good. I wonder if Anika will change his mind on relationships?

      What is Cafe Terra Blog?

We love romance AND we love food.

Bringing both worlds together just made sense.

Terra wanted to start Café Terra because she ran a food blog in her past life, worked as a pastry chef for a short period of time, AND her background is in nutrition. So, basically, food AND romance are her passions.

She’s willing to challenge herself with even the finicky recipes. Yes, that includes French macarons, Pâte à Choux, and homemade bread…just to name a few of her favorites.

Did Terra mention a recipe you want to try?

Let her know and she’ll work on getting it on the blog. Email chatwithterra@terrakelly.com

      About Terra Kelly

Terra loves snuggling with her cat and relaxing with her amazing hubby. A steamy romance book is never far from her grasp, and 2:00 a.m. seems to be the sweet spot to finally put a book down and sleep. She laughs loudly, smiles often, is a bit of a klutz, and tries to always find the positive in everything.

She first started writing contemporary romance in the beginning of her writing career. Then her darker side begged to have a voice. Now Terra and T.M. work as a team bringing you a little bit of everything.

Terra Kelly writes small-town romance stories that will make you laugh, cry, and crave sweets.

T.M. Kelly sticks to the grittier side of romance with strong female heroines.

Each book will share inspiration for recipes. Some of the recipes are shared in the back of the books. If you can’t find a recipe it could be on their food blog, Café Terra.

      Acknowledgments

This book has several pieces of my heart. The biggest piece, it takes place in Michigan. I was born and raised there and it was finally time to have a series that shares all the things I adore about the state. I hope you enjoy this journey with me. It’s time to say thank you to a few people!

Thank you to my angel, my amazing hubby. We met in Michigan and twenty plus years later it is still the shining light in our journey. The best part of our marriage- he so gets my love for Michigan homemade fudge (just like Eddie and Sarah).

Thank you The Word Fairy for your awesome editing and the time you took with me to make the book gorgeous.

Thank you Lee for taking the time to proof the book and always making me laugh.

Thank you to my amazing ARC team. You all are rockstars in my book. I so appreciate you.

Thank you to my fans and readers. Your support makes this adventure so much better.

Thank you to my friends and family for all your support and love.
