“You’re here,” he murmured.
Her eyes prickled with tears and she hugged his neck as tight as she could. She never wanted to let go of him again.
She didn’t know what their future held, or what the crows meant, or what would happen with Aux’s brother. All she knew was the only time she felt like her favorite version of herself…she was with Aux.
Whatever came for them, they were going to face it together.
“You’re here,” he repeated in a whisper infused with staggering relief. His hand was tight in her hair, and he was swaying them, hugging her up like he never wanted to let her go.
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she held on fiercely to the man she loved.
He could have her. He could have all of her—heart and soul.
Gwen eased back and cupped his cheeks so he could see the earnestness in her eyes when she told him, “I’m here to stay.”
And stay she would.
She. Chose. This. Life.
She chose a man who shared a body with a bear.
She chose this place and this happiness, this danger, this joy, this uncertainty, this love.
For better or worse, this was her place, right by Aux’s side.
