No way was he going to allow these sub humans to extort him like this. He got up and walked to the window. His penthouse apartment gave him an unobstructed view of the city. “Now you listen to me, Chuey. I will pay you the five hundred million and not a cent more. You can decide if you want to take it or not.”
“Ah, senõr, a person like you, living in a penthouse and dressed in Luxor suits, must live a carefree life. You do not want to sleep with one eye open, wondering what could climbed up the tall building and slip into a window.” Copernicus felt a cold chill down his spine. Chuey was telling him that a lizard would be able to scale the building. “You decide what you want to pay or not. In the meantime, I need to find something to eat. New York will not notice if a few people have gone missing.”
The phone slipped out of Copernicus’ hand and clattered to the floor. His body was frozen in utter terror.
Chuey was here.

The call was picked up on the second ring.
“Yes?”
“It’s true, milady. The prophecy is true.”
There was a long, pondering silence on the other side of the line. “Has she been spotted?”
“It would not appear so, milady.
“Good. Keep an eye on her. Should something arise that needs my intervention, call me immediately.
“I will do so, milady.”
There was a short silence. “Good work, Alexandra. Thank you.”
“It is my privilege, Your Highness.”
