Lucas dreaded what would come next. What would he say? That he wanted to hire Gavin again because this had been the best sex of his life?
Gavin pulled out, making Lucas suck in his breath. “Wow, I’m going to feel that for a while.”
“Then I did my job.”
“Yeah, I guess you did.” He hadn’t meant the words to sound bitter, but he knew they did. “I… I’m sorry. I guess I’m not good at this.” He didn’t sit up, preferring to keep his face buried in the mattress.
Gavin ran a hand down his back. “It’s your first time and… This was… unexpected.”
Lucas wasn’t sure exactly what Gavin’s tone meant. He sounded wistful and maybe a little sad. He rolled over then so he could look at Gavin. “Knowing your client? Has that happened before?”
Gavin shook his head. “That’s why I work at a club across town from school.”
“You didn’t have to…”
“If it had been most anyone else, I wouldn’t have, but you… Like I said, I was very eager for the chance to explore my fantasies.”
Lucas smiled. “I could tell.”
“Did you want me to stay?”
Lucas had discussed rates when he’d booked his appointment. He understood that if he kept Gavin there much longer, he’d pay the nightly fee versus the hourly one. What the hell. He had a lot of savings and very little to spend it on.
“Yes, please. Even if we just hang out, I would enjoy the company.”
“We can do a whole lot more than hang out, but maybe first we should have a shower and some food to revive us.”
“That sounds perfect.” Lucas could let things be for now, enjoy the rest of the evening, and see what happened after that. “Thanks for staying.”
Gavin smiled. “My pleasure. Truly. I know some people think no one would do this job except out of desperation, but usually I enjoy my work. This job is way better than others I’ve had. Sometimes, though, I enjoy it more than others.”
“I enjoy your work too,” Lucas said, laughing. “I might need to enjoy it more often if that would be okay.”
“That would be very nice indeed. You might become my favorite client.”
“I like that idea. A lot.”
Lucas hated to lose him as a student, but he had every intention of hiring him again. Even if they only saw each other another time or two, he couldn’t teach Gavin after Gavin had fucked him. “I’m more than happy to make a recommendation.”
Gavin winked. “Recommend away, Dr. Caldwell.”
