Staircase House is based on Lady’s Stair House in Edinburgh, which is now a museum dedicated to three famous Scottish writers, Robert Burns, Sir Walter Scott, and Robert Louis Stevenson. I visited it on my research trip to Edinburgh. Both Edinburgh and Salzburg are wonderful cities, and I thoroughly enjoyed my research trips to each one.
