Luke went to her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
“I’m so pleased he’s finally decided to let you in,” she said.
“I was the guy who took advantage of his daughter. I’m surprised he’s given into me so easily.”
“You’re also the guy who loves me and has supported me through college and has married me.” She pressed her hand between them. His ring lay on her finger between them.
“And I’d do it all over again.”
“Even getting punched in the face?” she asked.
“Baby, that was the best bit, Kimberly. You’re mine and will always be mine.”
Luke lifted her in his arms and carried her up the stairs where he proceeded to show her exactly who she belonged to.
