“Thank you, Ariel,” Creon murmured.
Carmen bit her lip and pressed her face into Creon’s chest. His body shook with laughter. She pulled back when she felt a tug on her pants. Her gaze softened when she saw Phoenix gazing up at her, her eyes swirling with stars and galaxies.
“I love you, Mommy. Happy Valentine’s Day,” Phoenix said before blowing her a kiss and following the others.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, sweetheart,” Carmen whispered.
*.*.*
The two golden apparitions released a happy sigh. Technically, they hadn’t interfered. A simple push of energy through the transporter and making a suggestion wasn’t really meddling with destiny – was it?
Arosa gazed at the family inside the palace. She watched the dragon warrior hold out his arm to the lonely woman who had captured his heart. Arosa smiled when Sandy reached up and pulled a paper heart out of her shirt and held it out to Jarak. A wave of warmth flooded her when she saw Jarak reach out and take it. He stared at it for a moment before he slipped it into his shirt.
“I love watching them,” Arilla murmured with a sigh, watching Jarak wrap his arms around Sandy and lift her off the ground in joy. “Do you think we should check on her?” Arilla suddenly asked.
“Yes… Yes, I do think we should,” Arosa murmured. “After all…”
“…it is Valentine’s Day!” Arilla laughed in delight with a wave of her hand, opening a portal.
Arosa turned. Through the portal, stars and galaxies swirled. In the distance, a beautiful white and blue planet stood out, calling to them. They would just take a peek, to make sure Aikaterina was alright. It wasn’t like they would meddle or try to change destiny…. Well, only if it needed a little help – after all, it was Valentine’s Day!
