“I don’t know if any of it is usable,” he cautioned.
“Even if it’s not, we can always choose a few things to display in here. Make little shadow boxes or something like that,” I decided, my brain already conjuring up ideas. “Did you have any more trouble with our boxes?”
“Just one,” he said, sweeping my hair off my shoulder and pressing a delicate kiss to my neck.
I leaned into his touch. “What does the label say?”
“It wasn’t labeled.”
“Then you must have packed it because I labeled all of my boxes.”
“I think you’re right.” He shifted in front of me. “It’s this one.”
My gaze fell to the small black box in his hand before darting right back to his smiling, hopeful face. “Ben?”
“I had planned to do this somewhere more romantic, but it feels right to do it here, in our house, in the room for our baby.”
“Ben,” I whispered, crying now.
“It’s beautiful, Ben.”
“Will you marry me?” he asked, his voice thick with emotion. “Will you let me be your husband? Your partner?”
“Yes! To all of it!” Unable to contain my happiness, I threw my arms around his neck and excitedly kissed him. “Ben, I love you so much.”
“I love you more,” he murmured against my mouth. His hand drifted between us and settled over the gentle swell of my stomach. “I love you both.”
