"No," I admitted. "She does her best, which is usually not very good, and then she graciously praises whoever wins. She tries to help the kids win."
"You weren't gracious when Francesca brought in your beach ball," Lara pointed out.
"Was she angry with Scarlett and Angel?"
"Maybe frustrated," Lara said. "They gave it their best, but they tried to play by fox rules. She was reminding them they very graciously don't try to force her to play by wolf rules."
"So they get a pass but we don't?"
"We pick on her more than they do," Lara pointed out. "And we're twice their age. We're supposed to be more mature."
I laughed. "Fair enough." I thought about it. "I like her games. Do we have to stop playing?"
"No," Lara said. "She'd be disappointed. But we should be more gracious about losing and not escalate."
"Like double the wager?" I was reminding Lara what Michaela had done with her private wager with Lara.
Lara laughed. "I'm not complaining about that one."
About the Author
A writer by avocation, Robin has a renaissance interest in many areas. A bit of a gypsy, Robin has called a few places home and has traveled widely. A love of the outdoors, animals in general and experimenting with world cuisines, Robin and partner share their home with a menagerie of pets and guests, although sometimes it is difficult to discern who is whom.
