Angel smiled as she nervously looked around.
“Anybody have a problem with that?” Rachel asked.
Me, Alexis, and Tameka shook our heads. Jasmine shrugged.
Before I knew it, I found myself saying, “I think that sounds like a good idea.”
“Then it’s a done deal.” Rachel reached into her Bible and pulled out an envelope. She handed it to Angel. “I know you said you came for the money, but I hope you’ll come back because you like being with us.”
Angel blushed. “I will.”
Rachel dismissed the group and we all headed for the door. Just a few minutes ago I was itching to get out of here, but as I looked at my mom standing in the doorway with that big stupid grin, I realized my two hours there weren’t so bad after all.
