  He grinned at her. “What? Do I need to add to my list?”

  She nodded. “Yes, as a matter of fact, you do.”

  He took it out his pad, and with a pencil ready, he nodded. “Fire away.”

  “A cradle.”

  Jay looked at her. “A—” He stood and grabbed her to her feet. “You mean you’re with child?”

  “With your child.”

  He kissed her and hugged her. “Do you need to sit down?”

  She shook her head. “I’m fine. Next year, we’ll have another child.”

  “I couldn’t be happier.”

  “You might be. Twins run in my family.” She grinned and walked to the kitchen to take the biscuits out of the oven. Life was good. Her heart was full. Whatever troubles came their way, they’d work on them out together.
