Before she could finish asking the question, he answered for her. “Yes, Simone, it was bad news about your brother. He’s dead; killed by some idiots.”
Simone started sobbing in his arms. “Oh, Chase, not my brother too. It can’t be! Why?”
“Simone, I don’t know what to say.”
“Damn, Chase, I love you so much. My life is so crazy. I wish Ginger was still alive and things were different! I wish I could just turn back the hands of time. If we could just go somewhere and be together . . . just you and me, life would be perfect.” Her tears wet his shirt as he grew confused on what to do next.
