John McFarland’s work has also appeared in the anthologies A Treasury of American Horror Stories, (along with work by Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft), Solstice, and Reconstructing the Monster. His work has also appeared in National Lampoon, The Twilight Zone Magazine, River Styx, Xharon, and Tornado Alley. Aside from The Black Garden, his young reader novel about Bigfoot, Annette: A Big, Hairy Mom was published in 2013 and the sequel will be out in May 2016.
