Garrett’s story was inspired by a friend of mine who was involved in a bad relationship. Some would call it toxic. The situation was very similar in that he would get lovey-dovey gushing texts, followed by I-hate-you curses. He finally broke free and found someone who treats him much better.
I think we all go through that rite of passage when we are single and looking for a partner. Some couples will stagnate, some will turn poisonous, and others will survive and grow into something special. I hope anyone who happens to be looking will find the person meant to fill that role.
