When he mentions additions, my hand instinctively rests on my swollen, nine month pregnant belly.
“Something wrong, sweetheart?” Dad asks, noticing the small circles I’m rubbing on my stomach.
I shake my head and rest my hand on his shoulder. “I’m great.”
And I mean that whole heartedly. Everything in my life is absolutely perfect.
Dad pats my hand as he turns his attention back to my husband, who is still busy talking about all the services this addition will provide.
Merging our two hotels has been the best decision for us all. Gabe had no problems getting investors to back his renovation after our wedding. In fact, his investors offered even more money once the idea of a merge between my family’s hotel and his was put on the table. There was enough in the budget for my family’s hotel to get a complete remodel, which included revamping all the bad pluming in the place, so no more floods. All the rooms in our resort are booked solid for the next six months, so business is the best it’s ever been.
“Without further ado, O’ahu Elite Restaurant and Spa are now open for business.” The crowd cheers as Gabe cuts the big red ribbon that was hung across entrance door to the newly renovated section of the hotel.
As people file through the door, excited to get their first glimpse of the new wing, Gabe steps back and wraps arms around me, careful to mind my stomach.
He presses his lips to mine. “Can you believe it?”
“You did it, babe. All your hard work is finally paying off,” I tell him as I wrap my arms around his neck.
“We did it,” he corrects. “I could’ve never done this without you.”
He presses his lips to mine, and I close my eyes for a brief second to melt into him.
“Feel up to celebrating?” There’s a wicked grin on his face and a naughty twinkle in his eye.
My lips twist. “What exactly do you have in mind?”
“How about we put the doctor’s advice to the test and see if we can get our stubborn boy to make an appearance since he’s two days overdue?”
My fingers find their way into his dark hair. “I think I like the sound of that.”
That’s all the permission he needs, because it doesn’t take long for him to pull me toward the elevator with one thing on his mind. The man is insatiable, and I’m glad his hunger is only for me. I’ll never get tired of him wanting me, because I’ll never get enough of him.
“You’re still a cocky dick, Gabe Carter,” I murmur with a huge grin.
He looks over his shoulder and laughs. “Always when it comes to you, beautiful.” Then the elevator doors slide open, and he tugs me inside.
We’re a perfect match, and I couldn’t love him anymore even if I tried.
