“Yeah, infectious,” Sarah said with a wry grin.
“You’ll find that kind of love, too,” Serena told her.
Sarah looked down at her hands. “I don’t think so. That part of my life ended when Greg died.”
“I know you’ve been through a lot, but you have to start living again. It’s time to start dating.”
Sarah got up and walked to her desk. “A man is the last thing I need.”
“You’re a licensed therapist. You know it’s not healthy to suppress your emotions. There are plenty of nice guys out there. Give them a chance. Give yourself a chance.”

“Serena, stop pushing. Love, marriage and all that stuff—that’s you, not me. I’m happy just living here with Gran.”
Serena stood. “I have to say you’ve done a wonderful job getting her to stay on a budget. She actually listens to you. I’m impressed.”
“Thanks. It just took patience.”
“And a lot of other things,” Serena insisted. “But you’re not happy, Sarah. I know it. And so do you.”
Sarah rolled her eyes. “Your life revolves around one man. Not everyone’s made that way. Please, let me be me.”
“Speaking of Ethan,” Sarah said. “Let’s go find him before I strangle you.”
Serena threw both arms around her and held on tight. “I’m glad you’re home,” Sarah whispered again, and they walked out into the hall.
But Sarah couldn’t help thinking that her defenses would never be breached by anyone and her life would never be as happy as her sister’s. Still, Serena seemed convinced that love would find Sarah, too—and her twin sister had been right about lots of other things….
