Lucas’s eyes widened. “I didn’t think you wanted to get married again.”

      “Neither did you.”

“No, but you brought it up.”

“True.” Nate shrugged. “And no, I didn’t think I did, either. But . . .” He paused and took a deep breath. “If getting married again means going back to what I had before, then no. I don’t.” He laced his fingers between Lucas’s. “But if it means being with you . . . ?” Words failed him, so he just smiled.

Lucas smiled back and wrapped his arm around Nate’s waist. “We’ve got three divorces between us, so you’d think neither of us would want to go anywhere near a ring again. I gotta admit, though . . . I mean, maybe it’s just from being here.” He gestured at the rest of the reception. “But I’m not against the idea.” From the sparkle in his eyes and the way he was obviously fighting back an enormous grin, he was better than “not against the idea.”

“It’s not something we need to hurry into,” Nate said. “Just a thought.”

Lucas just smiled and lifted his chin to press a long kiss to Nate’s lips.

No, they didn’t need to rush into getting married. It was just something to think about.

But Nate had a feeling they’d both be thinking about it a lot.

And maybe, just maybe, he’d start looking for a ring.

      L. A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. And definitely don’t tell Lori A. Witt or Ann Gallagher. Neither of those twits can keep their mouths shut . . .
