“Good,” Jack said. “They decided it was in their best interest to work together and survive this thing.”
“So, does that mean we get Scaleburgers soon?”
Jack laughed, the lines making a rare appearance on his face. He hadn’t laughed much since the first attack but now cut loose. Ralph had always been able to make Jack laugh.
“No Ralph, no Scaleburgers this year.”
Jack gave Basha and Mercedes each a rub on the head and they all went inside to relax.
