“Here he goes.” Gabe grabbed Zain’s arm and Jackson was pretty sure neither brother who had been giving King Draven lessons in love were breathing.
“Good evening, ladies,” they heard Draven say. “You all look beautiful.”
“So far so good,” Zain murmured.
“He’s going for it,” Gabe whispered as Draven turned to one woman.
“You look especially lovely tonight, my dear.” Draven held out his hand. “Would you care to dance?”
The woman eyed him skeptically. “Do you have another gift for me?”
Draven looked panicked.
“I didn’t think she’d want a gift!” Zain was just as panicked now.
Draven took a deep breath. “I’m sorry, I do not. It’s me who’s asking you for a gift. The gift of your company.”
“Smooth,” Ryan said, giving Jackson a wink.
Zain and Gabe held their breath as she looked at Draven and then slowly extended her hand to his.
“I’d love to dance. Thank you, Draven.”
“Thank you for giving me another chance, Addison,” Draven told her sincerely as he led her onto the dance floor.
“I haven’t seen you in the gossip sheets recently. But I have seen you on the news. I’m very impressed with the initiatives you’re taking for your country,” Addison told Draven as they began to dance. Draven kept his hands in a respectable position.
Zain and Gabe high-fived and Jackson glanced over to the Rose sisters who had just high-fived while looking at him . . . uh-oh. He needed air.
Jackson walked out from under the twinkling lights decorating the backyard and headed around the side of the house and down to the barn. He needed a moment alone to clear his head and relax. He opened the barn door and stood blinking at Daisy. Her head was outside her stall, and she was trying to grab something hanging on the nearby hay bale.
Jackson walked closer and then saw what it was. Panties. The panty dropper had struck again. Jackson’s phone went off and he knew with the specialized ring it was work.
“Parker,” his boss snapped.
“Yes, sir,” Jackson answered.
“You and your team are to report to DC tomorrow night. I’m sending you the information now.”
“Is this the military assist you were telling us about?”
“Yes. Don’t blow this. It’s a huge chance to prove yourself.”
His boss hung up and Daisy nuzzled him. He needed light now more than ever.
The Bell family is thrilled you’re coming. See you soon, cuz.
Jackson took a deep breath. That was his light at the end of the tunnel.

Wyatt leaned down and kissed his wife as his friends and family cheered. They were lined up on both sides of the driveway with sparklers in hand. At the end of the tunnel was the limo that would drive them to the airport to begin their honeymoon.
“Are you ready, Mrs. Davies?” Wyatt asked Camila who smiled so beautifully up at him.
“I am, Mr. Davies.”
Hand in hand, they ran through the sparklers and into the beginning of their new life together.
