She smiled and turned away without replying. Cane before her, she made her way into the crowd, and in a few moments was lost to sight. Shin sighed and made his way back to the boat. Kasami was waiting, her expression thunderous.
“Was that the blind woman I saw scurrying away?”
“It was.”
“What did she want?”
“To thank me for my efforts.”
Kasami frowned, but let it pass. She fell into step with him. “It is time to board. Are you ready, or are there other criminals you wish to bid farewell?”
“No. No, just the one.” He looked up at the sky and then at Kasami.
“I think it’s time we headed home, don’t you?”
