It practically jumped into her arms.
“Oh, he’s perfect,” she cried and pulled the soft furball to her face.
“He’s going to get bigger.” Carter wrapped them both in his arms. “And he’ll need a name.”
She laughed as the puppy continued to lick her face.
“How about…” She thought about it. “Meatball?”
Carter laughed. “It’s perfect.”
She hugged the puppy to her chest and glanced around at all the family that filled the restaurant and knew that she was the luckiest woman in the world.
