“Fine.” I said with a sigh. “Go ahead. See what they want.”
“To be continued.” He smiled and answered the phone, an expression that quickly morphed into a frown. When he hung up the call, he didn’t pull me back to his chest. Instead, he grabbed his dagger from his bedside table and frowned. “As much as I despise saying this, we’re going to have to continue this later. Ivan Wagner has escaped. And he’s left a trail of bodies behind him.”
