     Remy Broussard's Christmas

As Christmas approaches, a bullied child withdraws from friends and questions the meaning of Christmas. A South Louisiana community comes together to stop the bullying and open Remy's heart to the meaning of Christmas. When a classmate physically and mentally bullies Remy, the third-grader withdraws from friends and imagines the worst about his parents. Staring at the Christmas tree in the classroom enables the sharecropper's son to escape his poverty-stricken life and dream about opening a present on Christmas morning and having turkey for Christmas dinner, neither of which has ever occurred.Friends blame the changes in Remy's behavior on Leonard's bullying and encourage Remy to talk to his parents, his teacher or his priest. Remy refuses, often with open hostility. As Christmas Day approaches, Remy's struggle to understand why he has so little and others have so much deepens. He concludes that Jesus is punishing him for hating Leonard and his bullying.A bayou-laced, South Louisiana community comes together in 1952 to stop Leonard's bullying in a compassionate manner and open Remy's heart to the meaning of Christmas through love and forgiveness.* * * * * * *"Remy Broussard's Christmas" is the first novella in the "Remy's Bayou Road" series.

    Nightmares

      Stephen Brandon
     Nightmares

Over the years, everyone has nightmares. Some from eating to late, some from life experiences, and others from just listening to the evening news just before bedtime. Each is a nightmare in its own right, some more so than others. It depends on your point of view. These nightmares are in alphabetical order by title.A collection of nightmares that … well you decide. Over the years, everyone has nightmares. Some from eating to late, some from life experiences, and others from just listening to the evening news just before bedtime. A few nights ago I watched the evening news, and then went to bed. I woke up in a cold sweat about three AM remembering a few stories I'd published years ago, and some I wrote but didn't publish. I don't remember what caused the original nightmares that prompted me to write those stories. I reread them and decided to republish them, and publish some of the unpublished ones. I still have several, but they are so off the wall or what you would consider controversial, that I'm going to hold onto them unless I hear their contents in the news. After all, I'm not a harbinger. Each is a nightmare in its own right, some more so than others. It depends on your point of view. These nightmares are in alphabetical order by title. Here they are!

     Whore

Not your typical prostitute ... this is a story of unconditional love. * “I need a reason to exist.” Beautiful, intelligent, independent, strong-willed, wealthy—Lilith Fontenot seems by all appearances, to have it all. But that’s not how the highest paid prostitute in New Orleans sees herself. A stain on society. A scourge. A waste. Outsider. Prisoner… Any idyllic dream of the normal life she may have once imagined, Lilith buried long ago. Her only plan now is survival. But mob boss Nico Santelli and community center owner Soti Christos have not given up on Lilith. Each has his own very specific, very opposing, plans for her, and neither will rest until it becomes a reality. LILITH is a singularly bracing take on an ancient tale of tireless love, betrayal, and the possibility of redemption.

     On the Hit List

My name is Ellis DeAngelo. I tend to get caught in the midst of trouble quite often. I'm an unlucky guy, but fortunate to have friends to help me out. These aren't the memoirs of a geisha you'll be reading. And most definitely not some soul-searching discovery that depicts eating, praying, and loving. This is so much better ... or worse, depending on your perspective. To sum up: I think I'm going to die. Not of old age, mind you, or in a tragic accident. My boss is trying to kill me. It all starts when I'm ... You don't really think I'm going into all the details now, do you? I mean, come on - look at the size of the space I'm provided here. I couldn't possibly cover everything in such a small area. That's what the book is for. Start reading!

In the poem, the protagonist heard the inner voice of himself and finally able to feel the essence of true happiness. The other eight poems are based on contemporary situations of our daily social lives and social relations with some funny and serious turns and twists! We always aspire to meet the God in our life time.
