I get up and throw my plate into the sink. I’m not hungry anymore. How disgusting. I hear Russell laughing as I stomp off. What kind of breakfast table conversation is that?
Then I remember something: I saw two guys going into the Millicans’ house, and one of them had a big camera. I run back to the kitchen and grab the paper, looking at the picture on the front of the living section. Sure enough, the woman has brown hair and the man has blond. It could be them, couldn’t it?
Nah. They’re religious counselors. They wouldn’t do anything like that. Now those McAllister people? I think they might be capable of anything.
I’ve got to get into the laundry room and clean up my shoes. There’s something red all over the bottoms of them. I don’t know what it is or how it got there, but so far I haven’t been able to get it off.
