Ian smiled. “Absolutely.”
Everyone stared at Mariella in shock. Ian took her hand. “Before we go I want to show you something.” He gestured to the announcer.
The announcer then said, “Everyone please gather in the Duvall wing where her most important piece will be revealed.”
Under a buzz of murmurs the crowd walked into the last exhibit room where a large covered canvas hung. Ian nodded to an attendant who removed the covering and revealed the image of Ian that had been splattered all over the tabloids.
Mariella gasped. “What have you done?”
“I’m displaying your work.” He nodded to the picture. “This is one of your best and I want everyone to see it.”
She folded her arms and sent him a sly glance. “Because it’s a picture of you?”
“No.” He stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist and whispered, “Because it’s a picture of a man smiling at the woman he loves.”
