Acknowledgments
First of all, if you are reading this, thank YOU. You cared enough about these characters to make sure you got the exclusive bonus epilogue found only in this limited-time Adventurer’s Edition.
I love these Linear Tactical characters, and I so appreciate that you’ve let them into your heart also. So, thank you for all your encouragement, support, and dedication.
You don’t have to know much about me to know that this book is close to my heart. An adventure race? Trip to Egypt? Yes…all echoing my real life.
We’ll just call this the book that allowed all my stupid endeavors to become tax write-offs.
This book is dedicated to Megan, my partner-in-crime in so many of my adventures: a five-day race across Iceland carrying backpacks and MREs (wait…why does that sound familiar??), hiking to Mt. Everest Base Camp, not to mention the multiple 200-mile relay races we’ve done all over the world…
Like I said in the dedication, it takes a special kind of stupid to do the things we do. I’m glad I’ve got a bestie who’s as dumb as me.
The adventure part of the book was easy to write, but the parts dealing with multiple sclerosis were much more difficult. A special thanks to Susan Frank who was willing to share some of her MS journey with me and offer readings and suggestions.
Susan, you’re an inspiration to me. I so enjoy watching your adventures with Harry and the love you two have for each other. You two are what I envision the future Boy & Girl Riley looking like. A life that includes MS, but includes so much more: love, adventure, fulfillment. ALL THE THINGS. They just come with a set of wheels.
To my editors, Marci Mathers of Moonflower Manuscripts and Elizabeth at Razor Sharp Editing: thank you, as always, for making my words the best they can be.
A special thanks to my alpha readers: Denise Chapman-Hendrickson, Susan Greenbank, Kaitlin Shoemaker, Jessica Peare. I always entrust you with my book babies before anyone else and you you’re always gentle and honest in your feedback. Thank you.
To my beta readers: Lisa Seely, Mary Lawson, Stephanie Krill, Lynda Bandy, Sammye Huggins, Sharon Grow, Mary Collins, Kari Wolff, Sophie Ruthven, and Tanja Kezmić. Thank you for your encouragement and finding errors in this book under a tight deadline.
And to all my readers who have loved the Linear Tactical series enough to allow me to write eight of them so far…thank you! Next stop, one I’ve been waiting for since the beginning: BABY.

"Passion that leaps right off the page." - Romantic Times Book Reviews
USA TODAY bestselling author Janie Crouch writes what she loves to read: passionate romantic suspense. She is a winner and/or finalist of multiple romance literary awards including the Golden Quill Award for Best Romantic Suspense, the National Reader’s Choice Award, and the RITA© Award by the Romance Writers of America.
Janie has lived in Germany (due to her husband's job as support for the U.S. Military) for the past five years, with her hubby and four teenagers. When she's not listening to the voices in her head—and even when she is—she enjoys engaging in all sorts of crazy adventures (200-mile relay races; Ironman Triathlons, treks to Mt. Everest Base Camp) traveling, and movies of all kinds.
Her favorite quote: "Life is a daring adventure or nothing." ~ Helen Keller.
