When Robin finally let go of her, Emily turned her gaze toward the heavens. With tears in her eyes, she whispered, “I will take care of him, Annie.” A single tear slipped down her cheek as she said it. “And I will always love him as he deserves to be loved.”
Robbie looked up from where he slumbered, because it was only he who heard the whispered reply.
