  “Wanted to surprise you.” Cole crossed the room to pull her into his arms. “I finished the mission late last night and drove like hell to get here before you did.”

  “Well you certainly succeeded.” Angela wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply, soaking in his warmth and scent. They hadn’t quite agreed to a full on mating ritual yet, but had decided to try seeing each other, and so far it was working out pretty well. He was still going on missions every other week, and she still worried about him a little, but overall it gave her the space to work while he was gone, and the support of being able to consult with him while he was here. “Is all that food for me?”

  “Well, I thought we’d share it.” He glanced at the table, and then at the couches. “You know, I set this all up because I know women like to be romantic but…”

  “Yeah, I’m thinking the same thing.” They served up heaping platefuls of food, and then settled on the couch so they could flip through Netflix’s offerings – an evening ritual she’d fallen in love with. Along with the man she sat next to.

  And as Angela cuddled up to him, and he kissed her sweetly, she decided life was pretty awesome with her sexy bear, and she wouldn’t change a damn thing about it.
