Chloe set her foot on the ground and gave Jason her hands so he could help pull her from the chair. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” He cupped her face in his hands.
“I mean for agreeing to go back to Aubrey Heights to have the babies, and to stay longer than planned.”
Jason chuckled. “Thank you for agreeing to let my mom stay with us while we are there.”
“I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I can’t wait for the babies to see their bedrooms in their house, surrounded by the quaint sounds of Christmas, and then the one here in the city. You certainly did give me the best of everything.”
“You deserve it. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for the woman who loves me unconditionally and has gone through all of this to give me two more little girls to love.”
“I know they will love you as much as I do.”
“Then I most certainly am the luckiest man in the world.”
Chloe wrapped her arms around Jason’s neck and kissed him gently, then she ran her finger over the faint scar above his eyebrow. “You just never know how things are going to turn out, do you?”
Jason lifted her chin with his finger and directed her gaze back to him. “Oh, I knew. I knew when I took that job that it would be a corporate Christmas present, and my life would change forever.”

Obsessed with writing since the age of 12, Bernadette Marie officially started her journey as an author in 2007 when she finalized a manuscript she'd been writing for 22 years, shelved it, and wrote 12 more books that year.
