“And so the plot thickens,” my father remarked, “because a Minotaur wouldn’t walk through the lobby. The creature we’re hunting for certainly isn’t anything close to a Minotaur—not a group of centaurs. It’s something else entirely.”
He placed his sunglasses over his eyes before the three of us fought our way through the crowd.
I let out a sigh as we distanced ourselves from the hotel. I felt like calling Benedict and Hazel—I had promised myself when I was in Lily’s room that I would—but back out in the fresh air and relative normalcy, I checked myself. They should be allowed to enjoy their holiday without parental interference getting in the way.
Besides, I thought with a smile, Hazel had been devouring so many sports romances recently. There could be a sweet summer romance blossoming about now… and who was I to intrude?
No. I would let them enjoy their freedom just a little bit longer…
