“Are you sure you don’t have any other questions?” Max teased.
“I might, but not right now.” Michael stopped walking, and since they were both attached to him, they did, too. He looked up at Max and then Derek.
“I love you, my two daddies. We’re gonna have a good time, aren’t we?”
“We love you, too. And yes, we’re going to have a great time, because we’re together. Right, Daddy Derek?” Max asked, looking at Derek with love.
Derek bent and picked up Michael and they shared a three-way hug. Max and Derek had the same idea at the same time and they tickled Michael, getting squeals of laughter from him.
“Oh, yes, you’re right. We’re going to have a wonderful time.”
“Aren’t you glad you met my Daddy, Derek?”
Max and Derek looked at each other and grinned, both getting it at the same time.
They both answered, “Yes!” at the same time.
Derek felt as if he’d won the love lottery when he met Max. They just fit so well and Derek loved Michael as if he were his own. They were a family. The “something for Santa” that Derek had wished for before Christmas had turned into way more than he’d ever dreamed was possible.

The GLBT National Help Center is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that is dedicated to meeting the needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and those questioning their sexual orientation and gender identity.
