Implant

     Implant

Young doctor Gina Panzella has known her boss, plastic surgeon Dr. Duncan Lathram, almost her entire life, and respects him deeply. Charming and brilliant, Duncan has invented a dissolving implant that allows incisions to heal without scarring. Duncan's artistry in the operation room is the salvationof Washington's biggest power players whenever they need touch-ups for C-Span. But there are a few things about Duncan that Gina can't quite figure out. Why did he trade vascular surgery for the more profitable but less vital plastic surgery, and why won't he accept his patients' medical insurance? What caused his daughter's death and the breakup of his marriage? Why do his tirades agains the new congressional medical ethics committee have such a bitter personal sting? And what is his connection to two committee members who died in accidents not long after Duncan operated on them? Soon Gina's curiosity about Duncanis replaced by suspicion and fear. With the help of Gerry Canney, a high school classmate now working for the FBI, Gina determines to find out what ruined Duncan's personal life and aroused his wrath against the congressmen. She find a man much more complex and mysterious than the sharp-tongued but kindhearted physician she though she knew. Then two more congressmen fall ill after Duncan's surgery. And Gina discovers another kind of implant in Duncan's arsenal. . . .

Within the Walls of Westfield - A Diary of Madness

      Peter Davidson
Within the Walls of Westfield - A Diary of Madness

The contents of this transcript were discovered after clean-up operations began at the Westfield Psychiatric Hospital on 1st October 2009. Contained inside are field notes regarding the strange & abnormal progress of patient Jonathan Winterhall Gray, taken from the discovered journal of Dr Henry Renholm.Following the Era of Conflict between Homo-Sapiens and the Cyborgs they created, a tentative period of cooperation emerged. The residual population was heavily skewed to the Borg template. By 2175, the radiation threat from the dissipating ozone layer had escalated to worrying levels. The Rift Incident had to be investigated, and a rigorous selection process for the crew resulted in four Borg and two humans heading for Jupiter space. What they discovered would become known as The Jupiter Paradox. Was it a genuine paradox or merely a puzzle to which there was no acceptable solution? What would happen if they did nothing? It clearly illustrated that the Borgs and their creators would have to strengthen their alliance quickly in order to deal with the discovery, and that wasn’t going to be easy.

     Hellhound

They call it Deadtown: the city’s quarantined section for its inhuman and undead residents. Most humans stay far from its borders—but Victory Vaughn, Boston’s only professional demon slayer, isn’t exactly human… Boston’s zombies have suddenly become inexplicably violent—horror movie-style—resulting in a catastrophic all-out battle against humans. More troubling to Vicky is that she’s had dreams and visions of herself fighting alongside the demons. At least, she hopes they’re just visions—otherwise, that puts her on the front lines of the wrong side of the war. Vicky’s not surprised to discover that Pryce, her demi-demon cousin and loathed adversary, is behind the outbreak of the zombie plague, having formed an unholy pact with the Old Ones. Now, as the violence escalates and alliances shift, Vicky knows she’s the only one who can stop the plague. Unless the pack of hellhounds on her trail finds her first.

     The Walking Dead Collection

From the mind of Robert Kirkman, the legendary comic book auteur and creator of The Walking Dead, comes the complete e-book collection of WALKING DEAD novels steeped in the terrifying mythos of the Eisner Award winning comic. The first volume, THE WALKING DEAD: RISE OF THE GOVERNOR, explores the heart-wrenching and horrifying origin of the comic world's most infamous villain: Philip Blake, AKA The Governor. Following Blake and his ragtag band of survivors as they carve out a terrifying path through infested subdivisions and rotting cities, RISE OF THE GOVERNOR is a fever dream of a road trip that explores the making of a super-villain, culminating in a mind-bending twist-ending. The second volume in the series, THE WALKING DEAD: THE ROAD TO WOODBURY, delves even deeper into the dark heart of the Governor, taking readers through the fractured looking glass of a small town turned into a deadly dictatorship. As seen through the eyes of a troubled bystander, Lilly Caul, this rotting utopia crumbles under the weight of its own excesses and lurid pastimes. The final installments, THE WALKING DEAD: FALL OF THE GOVERNOR: PARTS ONE and TWO, ties all the narrative strands and back stories together in a roller-coaster finale that spans two books--an epic conclusion that resonates for fans of the comic series in startling ways. Every dark promise made during the Governor's rise to power now pays off in a series of terrifying, dramatic confrontations. When collected as a set, these four installments tell a heart-wrenching and terrifying saga of apocalyptic horror as well as human behavior in the extreme.
