The Adventures of Crimson Overcoat: Crimson Overcoat Versus the Yeti King of Leng

      Luke Monroe
The Adventures of Crimson Overcoat: Crimson Overcoat Versus the Yeti King of Leng

Alexander Valtam, known to some as Crimson Overcoat, is assaulted by a Yeti in the local Wal Mart while on a routine shipping trip. This leads him on a chase across dimensions in a race to rescue captives from the horrid Yeti King.Using current day electronic "tech support" Jubilee is undeterred in her mission to rescue kids' pets. As the only child of a hard working mother, she is quite aware that although uncomfortable in not being totally honest with her mother ("it's never good to tell a lie--you just end up telling more lies"), she also doesn't want to worry her mother, and so she manages her business without her mother's awareness. Jubilee's ability to fly to far away places on a long weekend overnight (at least that's what she tells her mother), allows her to rescue pets far from her home. Jubilee Kincaid mysteries are written using alliteration, meaning that the same letter is used in a string of words. This is a playful device to engage the struggling reader, or to help increase vocabulary, or to just plain make words an addictive process that we all enjoy. Jubilee also gives the reader a greater understanding of geography and cultures. Watch for Jubilee's next story as she reports on a Pesky, Partying Parrot in Perth.

Welcome to Nvengaria, a land where magic happens, shape-shifters are real, and fairy tales come true. England 1819 Wallflower Penelope Trask believes nothing will ever happen in her village of Little Marching, Oxfordshire. Handsome princes only sweep in and carry off innocent maidens in the fairy tales she collects, never in real life. Prince Damien of Nvengaria is tired of living inside a fairy tale. His entire life has been ruled by prophecy, magic, and avoiding being assassinated by his mad father and the head of the Council of Dukes. When his father dies, he inherits a kingdom divided, his opposition led by Grand Duke Alexander, who will do anything to keep the monster's son from ruling Nvengaria. To make good his claim to the throne, Damien must fulfill a prophecy that reunites the lines of the original two princes of Nvengaria, best friends who'd carved a kingdom out of wild lands near the Transylvanian mountains. Damien's task—to bring back the Princess of Nvengaria, her line lost centuries ago. The price of disappointing the people, Alexander promises, will be Damien's execution. Damien tracks down the long-lost princess to the village of Little Marching in England, where nothing remotely interesting ever happens.
