    Maneuvers

      Bernard Wilkerson
$value['title']

The Hrwang devastate Earth’s leadership and, orbiting in gargantuan ships, prepare for a ground assault. Stanley Russell believes he can turn around the conflict by accepting an ambassadorship. Eva Gilliam also has a plan in mind. She won't go down without a fight, even if it's only a symbolic one. Bernard Wilkerson's third installment of the Hrwang series hints at darker days ahead for humanity. The world promises to get darker. Precision asteroid attacks by the Hrwang devastate Earth’s leadership. Survivors in tsunami-wiped "sunny" California haven't seen the sun for days on end. Electricity and fuel are precious and scarce. No one on the surface of the planet can see just how bleak the full picture looks because they can't see into space.Hrwang commanders, orbiting in gargantuan ships, are preparing for a ground assault by awakening a massive army from its 2 1/2-year slumber through interstellar space. Two humans have interacted directly with the Hrwang without dying. Stanley Russell believes he can turn around the conflict after accepting an ambassadorship from the Hrwang commander. Russell's second-in-command, Irina Samovitch, clearly doesn't share his optimism or visions of glory. For now, both are headed back to Earth tasked with reaching the United Nations, where the Hrwang seem to be saying they were attacked. What do they mean by that, anyway? How could humans have been so stupid as to attack aliens who obviously have far better technology? Perhaps Russell and Samovitch will find some answers in New York. Maybe Eva Gilliam and Juan de la Serda will uncover some truth in California, where she captured video of alien aircraft appearing over an observatory. Gilliam clearly has a plan in mind. She won't go down without a fight, even if it's only a symbolic one. Bernard Wilkerson's third installment of the Hrwang series hints at darker days ahead for humanity.

$value['title']

Jubilee Kincaid age 10,owns her "All Things Kid Detective Agency." She will go anywhere to help rescue kids' best friends--their pets. Now she is off to Alaska, to find a potentially frostbitten feline named Freddy who is famished and forlorn. Follow Jubilee as she flies to Elfin Cove in a float plane and meets fascinating characters who are fakers, fiends and friends.Using current day electronic "tech support" Jubilee is undeterred in her mission to rescue kids' pets. As the only child of a hard working mother, she is quite aware that although uncomfortable in not being totally honest with her mother ("it's never good to tell a lie--you just end up telling more lies"), she also doesn't want to worry her mother, and so she manages her business without her mother's awareness. Jubilee's ability to fly to far away places on a long weekend overnight (at least that's what she tells her mother), allows her to rescue pets far from her home. Jubilee Kincaid mysteries are written using alliteration, meaning that the same letter is used in a string of words. This is a playful device to engage the struggling reader, or to help increase vocabulary, or to just plain make words an addictive process that we all enjoy. Jubilee also gives the reader a greater understanding of geography and cultures. Watch for Jubilee's next story as she reports on a Pesky, Partying Parrot in Perth.

    A Shaman's Black Cloak: Vol1

      Bryan Smith
$value['title']

An American shaman, Val, recants the beginning of his paranormal profession in an uncanny interview under curious circumstances. The series itself explores the odd and mysterious parallels between the supernatural and the psychedelic in an eerily insightful yet mysterious work of short fiction that touches on answering the question, what happens when we die? This book is an experimental first in its series and is free.I started writing this book series when a friend of mine told me a story that-- according to him-- was true. It inspired me to write a series that delves into the connection between the spiritual and the psychedelic. I was just getting into chemistry as a cleaning chemical engineer when I came across the subject of non-recreational mind-altering drugs... While I give no comment on any of my personal experiences (or lack thereof) regarding this topic... The subject did make for a great book.Val himself is an American Shaman-- and he characteristically blends many of the other-worldly or spooky aspects of what we think about when alone at night. It's the kind of character that has all the traits that can and should scare you-- but packaged and delivered in such a charismatic and charmingly familiar way that you can't view Val as anything but the protagonist of the story. Which is exactly what I am going for. The aim of the book's philosophical narrative is to wedge in open-mindedness towards readers who have yet to experience the psychedelic. It's to tie in religious belief and language with authentic phenomena that occur right within our own psyches. We are made of chemicals. We experience everything about this dimension of the universe that we call reality though chemicals. Other dimensions and far more than we know are not light-years away; they are molecules away.So follow a story that explores and explains these questions that we've designated as unsolvable. Explore the possibilities of life... and death... as you never have before. Don't just search for the supernatural; experience it.

A Christmas Carol - Drama Script

In this adaption of the story by Charles Dickens, the playwright has used his skills as a playwright, as well researching both the time period and the life of Dickens, to bring an understanding of who Scrooge was, why he was the way he was, and what Dickens was trying to share in this story. In this adaption of the story by Charles Dickens, the playwright has used his skills as a playwright, as well researching both the time period and the life of Dickens, to bring an understanding of who Scrooge was, why he was the way he was, and what Dickens was trying to share in this story. For example, the phrase ‘humbug’, often used by Scrooge, in our modern language would be close to the word ‘scam’. It appears likely that Dickens, through the eyes of Scrooge, was expressing, as many do today, that Christmas is too commercialized. Through this adaption, hopefully the audience will find themselves understanding the world of Dickens more, as well as his religious feelings about what Christmas is really all about.
